About Genealogy Labs

Genealogy Labs is a community-based genealogy initiative that provides practical family-history assistance in a local face-to-face setting.

The program currently operates through an informal group of genealogy volunteers and associates. Our regular Monday sessions are designed to make genealogy help approachable: bring a box of old photographs, a difficult family-history question, an existing family tree, or simply a desire to get better organized.

Our Approach

• Preserve first. Family photographs and records are often irreplaceable, so digitization and organization are core services.
• Evidence matters. We try to distinguish what is documented, what is inferred, and what remains unknown.
• Teach while helping. The goal is not merely to do something for a visitor, but to make the next step understandable.
• Keep it local and practical. Genealogy Labs is built around regular in-person assistance rather than a large institutional structure.

Current Development

In 2026, Genealogy Labs expanded from photo digitization and general genealogy assistance toward a more complete community research station, including approved FamilySearch affiliate status.
